Grey Goose. An extraordinary journey through the creation of one of the finest quality spirits.

Last Spring I had the honor to meet François Thibault, the creator of GREY GOOSE® Vodka in Athens. His story on how he made this exceptional vodka was pretty inspiring.  When François Thibault, a Cognac Maître de Chai – ‘Cellar Master’ – announced that he intended to use his considerable spirits-making skills to create vodka, people in the region were skeptical. Today, GREY GOOSE® is enjoyed around the world.

To create GREY GOOSE® vodka, François Thibault maintains an unrivalled level of craftsmanship, using only the very finest ingredients. Its signature smoothness and distinct character are the result of an extraordinary passion for spirit making and an unparalleled commitment to the highest possible quality.

CRAFTMANSHIP

From field to bottle, François Thibault oversees every step in creation of GREY GOOSE® Vodka, from selecting the finest ingredients to designing a process which ensures that their natural characteristics are captured in the final spirit.

GREY GOOSE® Vodka is distilled only once using a continuous-column distillation process, that ensures the quality of the wheat remains.

INGREDIENTS

The creation of GREY GOOSE® Vodka begins with the finest soft winter wheat grown by three local farming cooperatives in the Picardi Region of France. Only the highest grade of wheat, ‘BLÉ PANIFIABLE SUPÉRIEUR’ – is selected – the same grade used in the finest French breads and pastries.
The wheat is sent to a dedicated mill and distillery, where it is transformed into a high-proof spirit. This wheat is then perfectly blended with spring water from an exclusive well in Gensac-la-Pallue, in the Cognac Arrondissement, where the water is naturally filtered through limestone.

TASTE

Each batch of GREY GOOSE® Vodka undergoes more than 550 quality control checks including – most importantly – personal tasting and approval by François Thibault. Once approved, GREY GOOSE® Vodka is bottled and receives the signature cork that serves as its seal of quality.

Nose: Clear, fresh with an elegant floral aroma accented by a subtle citrus note.

Palate: Initially soft with a gentle sweetness that gradually envelops the mouth—smooth and rounded texture with a hint of almond.

Finish: Fresh and bright throughout with a long, satisfying finish.

RECIPE

GREY GOOSE® Vodka    2 ½  Parts
NOILLY PRATT Original®French Dry Vermouth   ½ Part

•    Fine strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
•    Always garnish a GREY GOOSE martini with the peel of a lemon.
•    If you’re using a knife, cut off the white pith as it creates unwanted bitterness in the drink.
•    The citrus oils found in the lemon bring out the lemon notes in the flavor profile of GREY GOOSE.
