Sprezzatura. The Italian word for making everything you do seem effortless.

Today, we are thrilled to announce the first limited series clothing collection of Christakis in collaboration with It’s a MAN’s Class. The collection is called SPREZZATURA, as we draw inspiration from the art of appearing stylish without any trace of effort. All models are hand cut and made in Athens by Christakis 1947 Bespoke Workshop in a limited run of garments.

About Sprezzatura

Sprezzatura is an Italian word originating from Baldassare Castiglione’s “The Book of Courtier”. It is defined by the author as “a certain nonchalance, so as to conceal all art and make whatever one does or says appear to be without effort and almost without any thought about it”. In a nutshell, it is described as the art of effortless mastery.

Tailor Hardy Amies once said that: “A man should look as if he’s bought his clothes with intelligence, put them on with care and then forgotten all about them”. This is Sprezzatura.

From Day-1, It’s a MAN’s Class’s main concern was to educate its readers about the “rules” of how to dress fittingly. Once you have mastered the rules, it’s time to deconstruct them.

Sprezzatura has to be elegant, adventurous, leisurely and poetic. It does not obey to strict rules and stereotypes. The recipe for a careless, meaningful and free life – just like Greek Summer, one of our main inspirations.

The ELEGANZA Shirt is made of 100% Voile cotton fabric by Alumo Switzerland. It sports 4/4 handmade pleats on front, buttonless wing-collar and cuffs, both specially designed for a relaxed feel and accented spalla camicia.

AVVENTURA

The way to escape the ordinary.

AVVENTURA Safari Shirt is made of 100% 2-ply cotton fabric by Alumo Switzerland. It sports byron collar, spalla camicia, 3 pleated pockets and oversized vintage mother-of-pearl buttons and epaulettes.

TEMPO LIBERO

“Life must be lived as play”, Plato.

TEMPO LIBERO Shirt is made of 100% Voile Cotton Fabric by Alumo Switzerland. It sports specially designed button-less soft collar for a relaxed feel, Made in Italy mother-of-pearl buttons and accented spalla camicia.

POETICO

Everything in the world has a more enchanting aspect.

POETICO Safari Jacket is made of 100% Irish Linen pied-de-pule fabric. The double breasted unconstructed jacket with belt sports a shawl collar, 3 pockets and working button-holes on sleeves.
