…one man sits alone in the rain
listening. the audience notices him. they turn
and look. the orchestra goes about its
business. the man sits in the night in the rain,
listening. there is something wrong with him,
isn’t there?
he came to hear the
music.
(Rain – Charles Bukowski)

On today’s post, I wanted to share my feelings about rain. I experience rain, most of the times, with nostalgia and romanticism. I love each season for its unique character and rain reveals the most deep feelings of mine. According to Amy Miles, a rainy day is considered to be a special gift to readers… I couldn’t agree more!

For that reason, I opted for a vintage-like look, that recollects romantic and wistful feelings, to accompany me to a long walk through rainy and always gorgeous Athens.

The DB Suit

The Double-Breasted suit is definitely a bold statement. A style characterized by elegance, class and modern minimalism, while it is quite masculine and chic.

The double-breasted suit has two parallel columns of buttons and overlapping front laps. Talking about buttons we have 6×2 and 4×2. 6×2 means that the jacket has 6 buttons but only two of them can be fastened. The same rule stands for 4×2. There are 4 buttons with only 2 of which can be fastened. There is also a button inside the jacket, called anchor, that can be fastened at all times.

A double breasted suit could be worn at occasions that one would wear a single breasted, however it is considered to be dressier. It is quite flattering as it emphasizes the shoulders, but bigger men should be careful as sometimes they look visually widened.

The Pattern

The windowpane pattern is at the top of the list of patterns. It is bold, yet elegant and powerful, yet classic. It might be the perfect pattern for various reasons. Firstly, the pattern adds a little something to your outfit and easily separates you from the crowd, without looking too loud. It is classy, creative and elegant. Although it is simple to combine, the windowpane pattern is definitely a bold statement.

The Look

The look is consisted of garments I got from TAILOR. As I have mentioned before, TAILOR’s representatives are among the most talented and noticeable designers in Athens and Thessaloniki. Proud ambassadors of the Neapolitan Style, they experiment with colors, designs and combinations, while achieving a sharp, flattering and relaxed result.

The reason why I respect TAILOR as a ready-to-wear clothing brand is that it is really strong value for money, offering premium and luxury garments for less. Furthermore, in TAILOR stores you will find experienced salesmen that with help you style the look that reflects your own personality.

When it comes to ready-to-wear stylish and sharp men’s suits, TAILOR definitely needs to be considered.

double breasted windowpane suit

The double-breasted windowpane suit that I am wearing is made of S’120 wool from English Mills. It is pad-free and linen-free (revival fit) that makes it lightweight, relaxed, stylish and comfortable. The jacket has majestic wide double stitched lapels that emphasize the chest of the wearer. The exact jacket has also Neapolitan shoulder. Neapolitan shoulder is minimal and looks natural, as it lacks of padding, has a pleated sleeve head and a spalla camicia (it is translated as shirt shoulder, as it follows the natural shape of the body, just like a shirt).
