Did you know that red and green are a good match?
Experimenting with combinations is a creative and money saving process. There are countless combinations that will make you look and feel like wearing a whole new outfit every single time! Dabbling in color blocking is quite an interesting procedure, and if you learn how to do it right, you will be amazed with the results!
I marvel at vintage bikes. They carry plenty of style and a big story behind them! Therefore, my ride with this exquisite Vintage 1978 PEUGEOT Mixte bike in Spetses should be styled appropriately!
Ergo, I chose to combine a green windowpane jacket made of wool and cashmere with a red pair of cotton-wool trousers achieving an imaginative yet distinctive and classy result.
Red and green are complimentary colors. When placed next to each other, they create the strongest contrast for those particular two colors. Therefore, when you wear green and red garments together, you get solid, clear and powerful colors, as they complement and emphasize each other.
The windowpane pattern is at the top of the list of patterns. It is bold, elegant, powerful and classic. It might be the perfect pattern for multiple reasons. Firstly, the pattern adds a little something to your outfit and easily separates you from the crowd, without looking too loud. It is classy, creative and sophisticated. The windowpane pattern is definitely a bold statement, that instantly upgrades your style!
In order to spice up my outfit I chose to wear a light blue checkered 100% cotton shirt, instead of a monochrome. Mixing patterns is creative and provides an appealing result. The golden rule of mix-and-match is to maintain a noticeable distance between the patterns. Namely, on today’s style, I combined a big windowpane pattern on the jacket with a tiny checkered pattern on the shirt. Using this simple tip you may create a result that is smart and easy on the eyes.
Tan pairs perfectly with red as the belong to the same color family. The tan bespoke Oxford shoes beautifully complemented my outfit, creating a smooth and relaxed result. Needless to say that they matched perfectly my bike’s leather details!
I embellished my outfit with a woolen self-tie bowtie and a silk pocket square.
