The Seersucker suit. The ideal choice for a long walk on a warm Autumn day!

I always enjoy long walks and Athens has many picturesque neighborhoods to explore.
The ideal choice for a warm Autumn day walk is a stylish Seersucker suit, that provides a comfortable, cool and effortless result.

What is the Seersucker?

Seersucker is a 100% cotton type of fabric which is lightweight & thin.
The cotton is weaved together in a unique way (slack tension weave) to create a puckered effect with a wrinkled appearance.
It is mostly known for its ability to ventilate well resulting in breathable cool garments.

Why to choose the Seersucker?

A Seersucker suit is smart, but relaxed smart.
This lightweight puckered cloth looks effortlessly stylish and is highly versatile – making it easy to adapt in any situation.
It can be styled pretty easily while being distinctive and sharp.
Although it is considered to be a summer fabric, in countries with temperate climates like Greece, it can be easily worn from Spring to Autumn.
Furthermore, this fabric doesn’t wrinkle, therefore it is considered to be ideal for travelers.

The Look

The trademark color of the Seersucker suit is blue and white stripes, a style that oozes a great summer feel.
For a classic four-seasons suit, which is more grounded, I opted for a darker color. A blue Seersucker suit looks sharp and timeless, oozing a relaxed and stylish vibe.
The fit is the key for the Seersucker suit because of the puckering, which adds extra bulk. Therefore, a slimmer fit is recommended. The exact fabric has the ability to hold its shape due to its structure, making it look dapper.
The suit that I am wearing is from Bespoke Athens. It is totally unlined and unstructured, tailored by the well known Italian tailors Sciamat, whose official retailer in Greece is Bespoke Athens. Sciamat took advantage of every single attribute of the fabric, creating an utterly stylish suit that look both majestic and relaxed.
I styled it with a bespoke striped shirt by Bespoke Athens and a lime 100% cotton tie by DolcePunta.

Hello, beautiful suit! I am making my own seersucker in green/emerald and I wonder what color of buttons you suggest? Deep dark brown, black, or brown with some hints of white/marblish?
